Privacy policy

Last updated September 2, 2026

This policy explains what StumpFox Games collects when you use our websites and games, why we collect it, and what control you have over it.

What we collect

We collect the minimum needed to run an account and a multiplayer game:

  • Account data — your email address, display name, and an encrypted password hash. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your email and a provider identifier, never your password.
  • Gameplay data — match results, ratings, move histories, and replays. This is what makes leaderboards and match history work.
  • Technical data — IP address, browser and device type, and error reports. We use this to diagnose crashes and to detect abuse.

What we don't collect

We do not sell personal data, we do not run third-party advertising networks in our games, and we do not build advertising profiles. We do not collect precise location data.

Why we process it

  • To provide the service — creating your account, matching you with opponents, and saving your progress.
  • To keep it working — diagnosing bugs, preventing cheating, and blocking abuse.
  • To communicate — account notices such as email verification and password resets. Marketing email is opt-in only and every message has an unsubscribe link.

Cookies

We use cookies that are necessary for the service to function, primarily to keep you signed in. We use privacy-respecting analytics to understand aggregate usage. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.

How long we keep it

Account data is kept while your account is active. Technical logs are retained for up to 90 days. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days — completed ranked matches remain in opponents' histories in anonymised form, because deleting them would rewrite other players' records.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Most of this is available directly in your account settings.

To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected] from the address on your account. We respond within 30 days.

Children

Our games are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

Third-party services

We rely on service providers for hosting, email delivery, error reporting, and payment processing. They process data only on our instructions. Stores such as Steam, the App Store, and Google Play have their own privacy policies covering purchases made through them.

Changes

If we change this policy materially, we will post a notice on the site and update the date above before the change takes effect.
