Fortress enters early access

Two years of hex math, one very stubborn combat system, and a board we rebuilt four times. Fortress is playable now.

Fortress is live in early access. You can play it in your browser right now, and the desktop and mobile builds follow this month.

What's in the build

Everything that makes Fortress Fortress is in: the 75-hex board, two moves per turn, reinforcement, simultaneous combat resolution, and promotion into Towers and Turrets. Ranked and casual matchmaking are open, private rooms work, and there are three tiers of AI if you want to learn the systems without an audience.

  • Ranked and casual online play with ELO
  • Private rooms you can share by link
  • Easy, Normal, and Hard AI opponents
  • Full match history with replays

What isn't

Spectating, tournaments, and the campaign are not in this build. They are the next three things we are building, roughly in that order.

Early access means the rules are still moving. We will tell you every time they do.

The fastest way to influence where this goes is to play a lot of games and then tell us what felt wrong. The Discord is where that conversation happens.
